Missions Action Camp: Our first Mission Action Camp will be held July 9-15, 2010, in Greene, NY. Participants will receive missions-specific training including how to organize service projects, facilitate mission teams, preparing for ministry and more. Expedition Rangers and adult commanders are invited to participate in this mission project.
In July, a Royal Rangers mission team will partner with Rev. Douglas E. Harding and the Assembly of God church in Greene to combine missions training with outreach evangelism in town. There will be two training tracks for this camp: one being how to be an effective member of a mission’s team and the other is for leaders focusing on team facilitator training. As part of this effort we will be working on various building projects at the church facility. In addition, we will conduct a three-day Ranger Kids theme VBS and host a community barbecue at the church. Applications for this camp will be posted on our website www.nyroyalrangers.org
Expedition Rangers should begin to get sponsors for this “Missions” trip just as they would do if they were going to a foreign country. If they get more than the $500.00 to participate, additional money can be used to help fund this project. For more information and questions regarding the fee for this mission trip, contact Anthony Buttacy. anthony_buttacy@yahoo.com
