Michael Kellerman

Deputy District Training Coordinator

Michael Kellerman is the Deputy District Training Coordinator. He has held this position since 1990. Michael has been involved with Royal Ranger Training as the Long Island Section Training Coordinator since 1986 and still holds that position.

He has served on Staff at all of the National Ranger Ministry Camps (NRMC) held here in the Northeast Region where he provided outpost leaders with instruction in performing their role in an outpost.  In addition, he has also served on staff at the National Elementary Education Conference (NEEC).

Over the years Michael has headed up many training events such as LTC, Ranger Basics, Ranger Safety, Ranger Essentials classes along with training boys at the NYMN Royal Rangers Junior Leadership Development Academy camps.

He started working as a leader back in 1980 at Outpost 43 in Islip Terrace NY. Michael was an original charter member of Outpost 43 as a boy in the late 1960s. He has been a leader continuously since then and is now  working at Outpost 33 in Central Islip NY.  Most of those years he was a Pioneer age group Commander now called Discovery Rangers. He says that the best part of being part of this ministry is working with the boys.

Michael has been married to his wife, Barbara, for close to 45 years and together they raised 3 children of their own, 3 adopted children and over 2 dozen foster children. They presently have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
