2025 Spring Trace

Greetings Royal Ranger Leaders (and FCF Candidates),

The 2025 Spring Trace will soon be upon us (May 16-18) and is once more open to all Royal Rangers, regardless of FCF status. This will give everyone a chance to experience what life was like on the New York frontier when we were still loyal subjects of King George III, a “living history” experience

In keeping with our recent objective to better acquaint ourselves with the historical period we are endeavoring to recreate, namely the French and Indian War (1754 – 1763), we will continue featuring historical events that occurred in New York State. Events that helped shape our continent. The 2025 Spring Trace will see us focusing on the Battle of Fort Carillon (1758) which you may know better as Fort Ticonderoga.

Special note to anyone looking to either join FCF or advance:

  • Frontiersmen Adventure and Buckskin Challenge will both be offered
  • Wilderness will be offered at the Territorial Rendezvous Oct 16-18, 2025, at Camp Berry 3495 Middle Rd, Honey Grove, PA 17035..

Our guest speaker for the weekend is Richard “Jacob’s Staff” Franco. Well known to many of us it will be a pleasure to have him “share the warmth and glow” of our campfires once more.

This year we will be registering on-line with the registration link included in the event packet..

We will be holding a Chapter Scout competition and testing at the Trace. See page 3 of the Event Packet for details.

Please save-the-date and distribute the attached flyer to start promoting the event. And as always keep the Spring Trace in prayer.

2024 Fall Trace

August 30, 2024

Greetings Royal Ranger Leaders (and FCF Candidates),

Our Fall Trace will soon be upon us, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone once again.

Unlike the Spring Trace, this is a member only event, except for Frontiersman candidates and any pastors.

This is one more opportunity to mentor those boys God has entrusted to you.  Bring them out and let’s have fun seeing who performs better at our competitions.

Our event will be focusing on:

  • Frontier skill training, practice, and competition
  • Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in a multitude of events.
  • The overall highest scoring Young Buck will win a $100 gift certificate to a retail outfitter.
  • We will once more feature the “Seneca Run” where an “Old Timer” and “Young Buck” team up

Saturday evening will feature our community meal where we will be breaking bread together.  Bring your best recipes and impress us with your Dutch Oven cooking prowess.

  • Please keep this event in prayer

2024 Spring Trace

March 10, 2024

Greetings Royal Ranger Leaders (and FCF Candidates),

In keeping with our recent tradition, the Spring Trace is open to all Royal Rangers, regardless of FCF status.  This will give everyone a chance to experience what life was like on the New York frontier when we were still loyal subjects of the British Empire, a “living history” experience.

To better acquaint ourselves with the historical period we are endeavoring to recreate, namely the French and Indian War (1754 – 1763), we will start featuring historical events that occurred in New York State.  Events that helped shape our continent.  The 2024 Spring Trace will see us focusing on the Battle of Fort Oswego (1756).

Special note to anyone looking to either join FCF or advance:

  • Wilderness – due to the efforts required to provide the Wilderness Experience this will only be offered in our Chapter at our members only Fall Trace.  To help you prepare, however, the requirements are still included in the Trace packet (pg 10).
  • Frontiersmen and Buckskin applicants, please note the requirements detailed in the Trace packet (pages 8-9) and submit your applications by the stated deadline.

Our guest speaker for the weekend is Alex Haima.  Alex grew up in the NY District Royal Rangers and earned the GMA, Saber and achieved Wilderness status in FCF.

Please review the entire Spring ‘24 Trace Packet, especially page 3 which details important changes to our registration process, along with important notices.

Also, please note that we will have a shared meal on Saturday evening to build our community and honor those who have accepted the challenge by attempting to join FCF or advance to Buckskin.
