Greetings Royal Ranger Leaders (and FCF Candidates),

The 2026 Spring Trace will soon be upon us (May 15-17) and is once more open to all Royal Rangers, regardless of FCF status. This will give everyone a chance to experience what life was like on the New York frontier when we were still loyal subjects of King George III, a “living history” experience.
n keeping with our recent objective to better acquaint ourselves with the historical period we are endeavoring to recreate, namely the French and Indian War (1754 –
1763), we will continue featuring historical events that occurred in New York State, events that helped shape our continent. The 2026 Spring Trace will see us focusing on the Siege of Fort Niagara (1759). This is the last in our four-part
series focusing on key battles in NY State.
Special note to anyone looking to either join FCF or advance:
- Frontiersmen Adventure and Buckskin Challenge will both be offered.
- Wilderness testing will be offered, except for the Wilderness Vigil, which will take place at our Fall Trace. See page 10 of the Trace packet for details.
We have a full slate of activities planned, including Atlatl, candle making, chocolate making (from scratch), and an option to build a candle lantern.
Our guest speaker for the weekend is Kenny Carfagno. Kenny Carfagno is a member of Royal Rangers Outpost 234 in the Penn-Del District and currently serves as a leader in the Expedition Rangers, it will be a pleasure to have him “share the warmth and glow” of our campfires once more.
There is an on-line registration link included in the event packet.
Page 3 of the Trace packet includes a google sheets link for members to volunteer.
Unfortunately, I’ll be recovering from surgery and will not be able to attend. I have no doubt that you will all help our FCF staff in making this another great event!
Please save-the-date and distribute the attached flyer to start promoting the event.
